Received her Ph.D. in 1964 from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences with a thesis about "Some Boundary Problems for Equations of Abruptly Changing Type" [Abstract] under the direction of Lipman Bers and Cathleen Morawetz. Professor of Mathematics at Brooklyn Polytechnic University. Works in the area of partial differential equations and global analysis. Discovered her enthusiasm for mathematics after taking a required calculus course designed for liberal arts majors.
