Another E-space Phishing Scam

Last updated: Jun 17, 2014 11:26:40 AM

Greetings ASC Campus Community:

We have received reports about an email phishing scam that is circulating the campus.  The email subject line may read Help-desk notification, it is telling the recipient about a recent upgrade to 4 GB E-space, asking you to login and confirm your account.  This is not something new that Information Technology has done.

I've removed all the links in the example email below.  If you receive an email similar to this one, please do not click the links, and delete the email.

Thank you for alerting the Help Desk of these scam emails.  If you have any questions, please contact ITS Help Desk.

Thank you!

Dear user,
We just upgraded to 4GB space. Please log-in to your account in order to validate
E-space. Your account is still open for you to send and
receive e-mail. Click on  Current student, faculty and staff email upgrade  to confirm details of your email account. Note
that failure to confirm your email with this notification, would lead to dismissal of your user account.
Protecting your email account and improving the quality of your email account is our primary concern.
This has become necessary to  serve you better.
