Culture in the United States
We respect the courage it takes to move to another country and want to help ease your transition. To make the most of your time in the United States, we suggest trying to meet and get to know as many people as you can. Ask questions about the culture when you don't understand. Explore the city, region and country, when time allows. And don't hesitate to consult our office when you'd like assistance with cross-cultural adjustment.
One thing to keep in mind is that life in the United States does not mirror what you may have seen on television or in the movies, and many of these depictions of life in the United States are not accurate. Also, this country consists of many different regions and sub-cultures, so what is considered the norm in one city may be very different from the norm in another.
