Corporations and Foundations

Agnes Scott welcomes partnerships with corporations and foundations to further the mission of the college. This critical area of support enables students to experience new areas of study as they investigate pertinent issues within local and global communities and allows the college to improve the techniques of a 21st-century education.

In addition, the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations works with faculty to develop sources of funding for research and to further curriculum development.

Partnerships at Work
As Agnes Scott seeks partnerships with corporations and foundations, the college recognizes that there are many areas where educational needs and philanthropy connect. Mutually beneficial goals are important to the success of these partnerships.

Recent Foundation Gifts

  • The Halle Foundation supports an expanded German Studies Program through a grant of $150,000 over three years. The grant enables development of educational resources and activities that enhance the learning opportunities of current students and help recruit new students to the program. Funding includes travel to Germany for faculty and students, as well as a German Studies lecture series.
  • The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation supports planning for a new Center for Women's Global Leadership. The award of $50,000 will enable the college to plan for a center linking the liberal arts to global citizenship through education, research and action. It will equip Agnes Scott students with a nuanced and powerful interdisciplinary understanding of global issues that disproportionately or distinctively affect women.
  • The Davis United World College Scholars Program selects Agnes Scott as their first and only affiliate in Georgia. The $35,000 grant helps three students to attend Agnes Scott and funds the costs of recruitment efforts to attract even more international students.
