A Tradition at Agnes Scott
Each year students in the state of Georgia have an opportunity to submit their written works for recognition at the Writers' Festival. Agnes Scott awards a $500 first place prize for each of these categories:

  • Creative nonfiction
  • Fiction
  • Playwriting
  • Poetry

Finalist Notification
Contest finalists will be notified by e-mail in January. Their work will be included in the Festival magazine, published in March, and they will be invited to a luncheon on campus followed by a workshop led by one of the visiting writers.

Contest Rules
Contest rules appear below. Entries not following these rules will not be considered. For more information, contact Rachel Trousdale, assistant professor of English, at rtrousdale@agnesscott.edu.
