About the Grace Chao Lecture Series: China Between Past and Future
The Grace Chao Lecture Series at Agnes Scott College has been established through the generosity of Grace Yao Ping Chao, an Agnes Scott College alumna from the class of 1958. Starting in 2008, the Grace Chao Lecture Series will bring leading scholars to the campus each year to give lectures on cutting edge scholarship on China, with particular emphasis on the developments, problems, and prospects between China’s past and future. Topics to be explored by speakers in the lecture series in the coming years include China’s woodblock prints as a visual art form connecting China’s past and modernity; the interaction between literature, history, and culture in modern China; and the questions of globalization and transnationalism concerning China.
This event is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required.
