Professional Activities
Professor Dermont’s short stories have recently appeared in American Short Fiction, Crazyhorse, Open City, Tin House, Zoetrope: All-Story and in the anthologies Best New American Voices, Best American Nonrequired Reading, and The Worst Years of Your Life. Her first novel, The Starboard Sea, published in February 2012, was called "...a rich, quietly artful novel that is bound for deep water, with questions of beauty, power and spiritual navigation as its main concerns" by the New York Times.
