GENERAL SUMMARY: Monitors
activity in the academic buildings during the evening hours, within the
guidelines of college and Departmental policies and procedures. Reports to the Sergeant or other designated
person and works with co-workers, faculty and staff, students, visitors, and
guests as they come and go from facilities, to provide for a safe working
environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Monitors
activity in the academic buildings during the evening hours.
- Maintains
a log of persons coming and going from building.
- Turns
off any unnecessary lighting.
- Checks
building periodically for any safety concerns.
- Reports
incidents and concerns to dispatch.
- Secures
facility.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma, trade school, or
equivalent level of education preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1 month training time at
ASC, for a total of 3-6 months.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Familiarity
with college and departmental policies and procedures.
- Good
communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated
ability to work independently.
Other:
- Irregular
and on-call work hours are required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Intermittent
sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, and moving of light objects. Work is performed in a building.
