Catherine Geerlings enters her second season as head coach at Agnes Scott. During Geerlings’ first season she had one Great South all-conference player, one all-freshman player and one all-academic player. The team also made it to the GSAC Championship Quarterfinals.

Prior to coming to Agnes Scott, Geerlings worked at the Trinity Christian School in Sharpsburg, Ga. During her two years as head coach, Geerlings transitioned the volleyball program into the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) and coached two all-region players.

As a four-year player at Southwestern University, Geerlings’ teams made four consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearances and finished in the top five of the tournament each year.

During her senior year at Southwestern, Geerlings was named team captain and was an NAIA All-Region setter and the District 4 Setter of the Year. She went on to play over ten years on USA Volleyball traveling teams.

In addition to coaching at the club level in Georgia, Geerlings played club volleyball as a part of the Alamo Volleyball Association Junior Club Program in San Antonio, Texas. While there, Geerlings captained three national finishing teams at the Junior Olympics and received All-American honors.

Geerlings, along with her husband Greg and daughters Jessica, Cady and Claire live in Newnan.

Sarah Lane enters her second year as the assistant volleyball coach for the Scotties.

Lane is responsible for on-court coaching, as well as recruiting and administrative duties for both the volleyball program and the athletic department.

Prior to Agnes Scott, Lane worked at Francis Marion University in Florence, S.C.

In addition to on-court coaching at Francis Marion, Lane served as a game event manager for other sports. She also coordinated both film exchange and community service projects for the volleyball team.
 
 
Jamenda Whitehead
Strength and Conditioning Coach

Jamenda Whitehead enters her fourth year as strength and conditioning coach for the Scottie volleyball team.

Whitehead is a 2008 graduate of Agnes Scott, where she competed on the varsity basketball team. In 2010 Whitehead received a Master of Science degree in Sports Administration from Georgia State University.
