The USA South Athletic Conference announced the Agnes Scott College lacrosse team will compete in the USA South beginning this 2009-10 academic year.
The Scotties join the USA South as women's lacrosse members only. The Scotties will continue to compete as members of the Great South Athletic Conference in the sports of basketball, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball.
The addition of Agnes Scott raises the number of women's lacrosse teams in the USA South to eight. Other teams in the conference hail from Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia.
The Scotties first contest in the school's history is scheduled for March 2, 2010.
