The Agnes Scott soccer team defeated LaGrange, 3-1 on Saturday and advanced to the conference semifinals next weekend.
The Scotties will face Piedmont on Friday at 2 p.m. at conference championship host, Maryville College.The Scotties fell to Piedmont, 2-1 in double overtime on Wednesday.
On Saturday against LaGrange, the Scotties came from behind for their victory as LaGrange took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute.
Agnes Scott responded quickly, when Caitlin Suilmann leveled the score with a 30-yard bomb in the 25th minute. The score remained tied at 1-1 going into halftime.
The Scotties took the lead in the 54th minute, when Kate Schuhlein put the ball into the net off a through ball from Suilmann. Kelsey Shaul finished the scoring in the 82nd minute on a 25-yard shot.
"I give the players the credit, as they sorted it out at halftime, came out and executed our plan," Head Coach Joe Bergin said. "They took care of business in the second half."
The victory raised the Scotties overall record to 10-8-1.
