Tony Ciccone enters his second season as head basketball coach of Agnes Scott College. In his first season, Ciccone led the Scotties to a second-place, regular-season finish in the Great South Athletic Conference.
During that season, the Scotties recorded a 13-11 overall record and 8-4 conference mark. The performance was the fourth winning season in a row for the Scotties.
Prior to his arrival to Agnes Scott, Ciccone spent the previous four years as the first assistant and recruiting coordinator at Emory University. During his tenure with the Eagles, Ciccone helped guide Emory to winning campaigns in two of the last three seasons, including an eight-game turnaround in 2005-06, the largest in the program’s history.
In 2007-08, Ciccone's final season, Emory concluded the year with their best conference record in nine years. While at Emory, Ciccone helped lead the Eagles to victories over a total of eight top 25-ranked programs, including three in his final season.
A 1996 graduate of the University of Florida, Ciccone received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Journalism and was tapped as a member of Florida Blue Key Leadership Honorary. He also received his Master’s of Science degree in Sports Administration from Georgia State University in May of 2007.
Along with serving five years as an assistant at the collegiate level, Ciccone spent six years as a head coach at the high school level. A native of Miami Beach, Fla., Ciccone played one season collegiately at North Park University in Chicago, before completing his studies at UF.
A three-sport athlete at Miami Beach Senior High School, Ciccone received both the Charles Fieldson Scholar-Athlete Award and the U.S. Marines Distinguished Athlete Award.
