Agnes Scott College

The Anne Register Jones Leadership Conference is an inclusive leadership training program for women. All Agnes Scott alumnae, faculty, staff and students, as well as local women, are invited to participate. Since leadership is a multifaceted concept, conference organizers will select different topics in order to, over time, cover the array of skills women need to succeed in leadership roles in their professional and personal lives.

The conference for 2007 focused on networking and negotiating, two skills in which recent research indicates a gender gap. Women can reap a variety of rewards from developing their abilities to stand up, speak up and build interconnections between people.  Plans are being made for a different, exciting topic for 2008.  Check this page often for updates!

About Anne Register Jones

Anne Register Jones ’46 (1925-2006) served Agnes Scott tirelessly almost since graduating.

“Agnes Scott has been a tremendous part of my life,” Anne said. “I love every day I am on campus. Agnes Scott gave me opportunities that I never would have gotten anywhere else.”

Anne served as a trustee for 11 years and vice chair of the Board of Trustees from 1992 to 1997. The board elected her trustee emerita for her service. She served her class as secretary for 28 years and numerous times as reunion chair. Anne served on the leadership committee of the Centennial Campaign and on the Bold Aspirations Campaign Steering Committee. Her work to build and maintain relationships with alumnae, friends, corporations and foundations greatly contributed to the success of these campaigns. She received the Alumnae Association’s Service to the College Award in 1991.

In 2003, in recognition of her tireless dedication and leadership, the alumnae leadership conference was renamed the Anne Register Jones Leadership Conference.
