International Students

As an international student, you're in good company at Agnes Scott. Our students hail from all over the globe and from many cultural backgrounds. And while you enjoy our location in the friendly, small town setting of Decatur, you’re also minutes away from the diverse attractions of metropolitan Atlanta—allowing you every opportunity to learn about life and culture in the U.S.

Admission Requirements
Admission decisions are based on evidence of a candidate's sound academic training, ability, motivation, maturity and integrity as shown in school records, standardized test results and counselor and teacher recommendations. International students must:

  • Complete an application.
  • Have satisfactorily completed a course of study equivalent to that required of U.S. applicants.
  • Present official test scores from the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) if it is offered in your country.
  • Present official test scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) if English is not your native language or language of instruction. The Agnes Scott College TOEFL code is 5002.
  • Verify your ability to pay without working off campus. Working off campus is prohibited unless you are in possession of a working-type visa.
Deadlines

  • January 1: priority application deadline for international students wishing to enroll for fall semester. For scholarship and/or financial aid consideration, we encourage international applicants to complete their applications early.
  • March 1: starting on this date, notification of admission, scholarship and financial aid (if applicable) will be mailed.
  • January 1: Applications received after this date will be accepted on a space-available basis.

Acceptance Information
If you are accepted to Agnes Scott, you will receive a letter of acceptance no later than May 1. This letter will include a candidate's reply form. Once you are accepted, the candidate's reply form must be returned to the office of admission along with a total deposit of US$ 1,350.00 to hold a place in the class.

Before an immigration document (I-20) is released, you must supply a statement from your bank indicating the availability of funds to cover your years of study at Agnes Scott, less any financial assistance awarded to you.

Financial Aid
Agnes Scott offers financial assistance to international students who are highly qualified and who cannot otherwise attend college. These funds are limited, so apply for aid only if your family’s resources are not adequate to meet college costs. After submitting the admission application, you must complete the international student financial aid application and certification of finances by January 1. Learn more.
