Alvanita Hope Negron ‘96, a native of Mobile, Alabama earned her B.A. from Agnes Scott in 1996 with a double major in biology and dance. During her senior year at Agnes Scott, she was selected as an assistant choreographer for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. She also has a master’s degree in science administration from Central Michigan University. Alvanita served for 12 years as health care reporting analyst, project lead, and as a company-wide diversity project manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia, where she was awarded the President’s Team Award and the CEO Impact Award for Diversity Champion. Alvanita and her husband, Louis, are the proud parents of two children. Her extracurricular activities include Junior League of Atlanta where she was awarded the Mayor’s Jewelers’ Woman to Watch Award in 2006; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; Girl Scouts and a catechist at the Catholic Church of St. Monica.

Alvanita's admission recruitment territories include the Georgia counties of Cobb, Cherokee and Douglas; California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. She is also the liaison for transfer students and Woodruff Scholars.
