Nurturing the Math and Science in Women Program

Gain Academic and Social Support
You can meet with other students to discuss the challenges of maneuvering through math and science courses.

Approximately 15 students attend bi-monthly meetings where second-year participants serve as mentors. We emphasize that every student should attend a study group regularly, some of which are led by second-year mentors.

The program has a Blackboard site organized bystudents with tips on how to study effectively.

Rave Reviews From Our Students
“We are happy to have someone listen to us rather than solve our problems for us. We want to know that someone cares but isn’t a caretaker.”

“[NMSW] is a place we can come and share things without judgment.”

“Knowing [faculty, staff and student facilitators] care is so important to my not giving up when I felt overwhelmed.”
