Is summer school open to anyone?
Those eligible for summer school include male and female college students in good standing with their home institutions; Agnes Scott students; high school students who have completed at least their junior year and those with a bachelor’s degree who want to take a course. If I am a student at Agnes Scott, do I have to apply to summer school?
No. You can simply register during the April course selection period.
How much does it cost?
Tuition is $405 per hour; most courses are 4-credit hours. For lab courses, the laboratory fee is $25. There is is $75 facilities fee for non-Agnes Scott students, which includes parking, ID, Internet access, use of the library and athletic facilities.
Do grades and credits count toward graduation?
For Agnes Scott College students, credit hours and grades count the same as in fall or spring terms. For visiting students, transfer of grades or credit is determined by your home institution.
Is on-campus housing available during the summer?
Yes, for Agnes Scott College students only. Summer Housing will be provided in the theme houses and Avery Glen Apartments. Details about housing are available in the Office of Student Life, 404 471-6408.
Is financial aid available for summer?
Yes, students may be eligible to receive both state and federal aid. Institutional aid is NOT available for summer study.
To qualify for federal aid, students must complete a 2007-08 FAFSA. All federal requirements and annual limits apply. Students who have received maximum federal awards during the fall and spring term will have no available funds for summer study.
Students eligible to receive Georgia HOPE may be eligible to receive HOPE for the summer term. Students studying part time with a minimum of six hours are eligible to receive $750 in HOPE funds. Full-time students can receive $1,500 in HOPE funds. Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant is available in the amount of $450 to eligible Georgia residents attending full time.

How long is each session?
Summer courses are compressed into five-week sessions. Classes meet Monday through Thursday for 125-minute periods unless otherwise specified.
How many hours may I take each session?
All courses are four semester hours. Students may take a maximum of two courses per session. Three courses (12 semester hours) may be taken each summer. No more than two courses (8 semester hours) may be taken in a single session.
