A successful study abroad experience starts will thorough, advance planning. We encourage you to explore study abroad opportunities from your first year at Agnes Scott.

Selecting a program
Agnes Scott's programs abroad vary in length, content, format and cost. To investigate your options:

• Visit the Office of International Education (OIE) to browse through files, brochures, catalogs, and guides describing programs, sites and ways to get there
• Attend our study abroad informational sessions
• See the bulletin boards outside of the OIE
• Review the ASC Web site's international education pages 

After investigating the different programs, make advising appointments with:

• The study abroad advisor to discuss program options
• Your academic advisor(s) to determine the most appropriate courses they should take abroad and the best time for the experience in light of their educational goals

It is also important to speak with:

• Your parents so that they can be involved in the planning process
• Other Agnes Scott students who have studied abroad

Application requirements for the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) and for Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE)
The following documentation must be completed and submitted to the OIE:

• Agnes Scott's Application for Study Abroad Approval form
• The ISEP or CIEE application forms and all supporting documents

Application requirements for all other study abroad programs
The following documentation must be provided to the OIE:

• Agnes Scott's application which includes 
• An Application for Study Abroad Approval form
• A description of the study abroad program  
• A statement explaining your selection of that particular program
• A copy of the external program sponsor's application
