Advance Your Career at a Prestigious College
With Agnes Scott’s century-old history of teacher training, our master of arts in teaching (M.A.T.) program will immerse you in your fields, sensitize you to cultural influences and learning abilities, and provide you with the tools and techniques to engage and inspire students. Our pre-medical post-baccalaureate program, supported by state-of-the-art science resources, will prepare you for a career as a doctor or healthcare professional.

Agnes Scott is highly regarded for its intellectual rigor and you’ll enjoy small classes with personalized attention from distinguished faculty. Our total student body is small (slightly less than 1,000) yet diverse (from 30 countries). And our vibrant, 100-acre wooded campus, located within one of Atlanta's historic neighborhoods, is just minutes from the cultural, entertainment and recreational attractions of an international city.

Attend At Your Own Pace With Full-Time and Part-Time Options
The full-time 12-month option begins in the summer and ends the following spring. The part-time option, designed to accommodate full-time work schedules, may be completed in 24 months. Both options will provide you with public school field experience, including a 12-week, full-time student-teaching internship during the last semester. You may also pursue an M.A.T. degree while teaching with provisional certification.

Use Our Graduate Scholar Option to Build On Your Undergraduate Degree or Teaching Certificate
Do you have an undergraduate major that is similar to, but different from one of our M.A.T. teaching areas, requiring you to take additional coursework before applying to our program? For example, you may be an engineer wanting to teach physics or mathematics. Or, you may have a background in journalism or theater, and want to teach English. Current teachers seeking to earn Professional Learning Units can also choose the graduate scholar option.
