Teaching and Scholarly Interests:
Dr Emert's interests include English education, 21st-century literacies, and technology in language arts classrooms. He is currently engaged in researching and documenting multicultural education. He teaches writing instruction and creative writing with an emphasis on children’s and young adult literature. Additional interests are teaching as an artform, the arts and education, and authentic and alternative assessments.
