Teaching and Scholarly Interests

Professor Cooley's scholarship focuses on attachment styles, depression, social skills, and neuropsychology as well as essays on teaching and communication. Her work has been published in the Journal of College Counseling, the North American Journal of Psychology, the Journal of Social Psychology, and the National Teaching and Learning Forum. Her recent children's book, Why Do My Feet Say YES When My Head Says NO?, illustrated by Jill Dubin and published by Headline Kids, focuses on developing self-awareness and problem solving skills in young children. At Agnes Scott she teaches clinically relevant courses including Abnormal Psychology, Psychological Assessment, Introduction to Counseling, Research in Clinical Psychology, and supervision of field placements for students through Psychology Practicum courses.
