Committee on Assessing Institutional Effectiveness

Our Charge
The CAIE supports the director of assessment in guiding assessment activities at the college. It is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of methods and processes for reflective, sound decision-making based on evidence and for presenting to the Strategic Planning Committee recommendations for how the college can better achieve its goals. The committee:

  • Monitors how well the college as a whole is fulfilling its mission and how well each academic and administrative department is meeting its goals.
  • Ensures that there are well developed processes by which quantitative and qualitative information is used to improve the quality of the college and each of its programs.
  • Participates in periodic institutional assessment review (accreditation).
  • Communicates and disseminates relevant assessment information to faculty, students and staff, including the creation of an ASC intranet site.
  • Assesses its own activities.
