RecycleMania 2010
January 17-March 27
What is RecycleMania?
RecycleMania is the college and university recycling competition that’s sweeping the nation! During the 10-week competition, more than 500 campuses compete in different contests to see which institution can collect the largest amount of recyclables per capita, the largest amount of total recyclables, the least amount of trash per capita and have the highest recycling rate.
How are we doing now?
We are currently ranked 22nd in the "Per Capita Classic” category out of 305 schools.
How Did We Do Last Year?
In 2009, Agnes Scott ranked 39 out of 293 in the “Per Capita Classic” category, second only to Berry College in the state of Georgia. This means the college had 23.27 recyclable pounds per person. In addition, with 29,619 total pounds of recycling, Agnes Scott was 4th in Georgia in the "Gorilla Prize" category.

The 2010 RecycleMania Competition runs from Sunday, January 17, to Saturday, March 27. During that time, keep doing as you normally do by recycling and composting as much as possible! The Office of Sustainability will also make campus announcements to keep you informed.
