RecycleMania 2012
February 5th to March 31st
What is RecycleMania?
RecycleMania is the college and university recycling competition that’s sweeping the nation! During the 10-week competition, more than 500 campuses compete in different contests to see which institution can collect the largest amount of recyclables per capita, the largest amount of total recyclables, the least amount of trash per capita and have the highest recycling rate.
How Did We Do Last Year?
In 2011, Agnes Scott ranked 31 out of 288 schools nationally and #2 in the state of Georgia in the “Per Capita Classic” category. This means the college had recycled 27.82 pounds per person. In addition, with 34,442 total pounds of recycling, Agnes Scott was 4th in Georgia in the "Gorilla Prize" category. In the Grand Champion Division, Agnes Scott came in at #29 nationally and #1 in Georgia with a recycling rate of 49.71%
