Chattanooga, Tenn.; Mathematics with lots of art history

Why I Support a Dynamic Liberal Arts Curriculum
For me, liberal arts is about intersection. Studying math taught me a step-by-step process for proving any idea—which helped me research the architectural design of Birkenau Camp at Auschwitz. And my work abroad, especially spending a month in the nomadic culture of Mongolia, opened me up to widely different interpretations of the world. Future students here will become ever more aware that we don’t live in isolation. The choices we make affect people continents away.

"In Mongolia I rode a reindeer, herded 500 goats and sheep and castrated a yak—with cuticle scissors."
