There never seems to be enough time for work and a personal life. To meet these needs Agnes Scott College offers opportunities for flexibility and time away from work.
Holidays
The holiday schedule for the fiscal year is determined annually. For fiscal year 2006, 14 holidays will be observed.

Sick Leave
Agnes Scott College provides a program of sick leave with pay for eligible staff employees. Full-time, 35-hour per week employees earn sick leave at the rate of 5.83 hours a working month starting the first day of employment.
Personal Leave
Agnes Scott College offers personal days to enhance an employee's flexibility in meeting their personal commitments. Full-time staff employees who work 35-40 hours per week in a 12-month position are eligible for up to three days of personal leave per fiscal year.
Family Leave
Agnes Scott College understands the importance of family issues to today's work force. The college also recognizes that more faculty and staff members than ever before face conflicting demands of family obligations and work. Because faculty and staff members may find it necessary to take leave from their jobs for a temporary period to address certain family responsibilities or their own health conditions, and in order to comply with the FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE ACT OF 1993 (FMLA), the college established the parental leave, family and medical leave policy for active members of the faculty and staff. To qualify, a faculty or staff member must have worked for the college for more than one year and have worked one semester during the preceding twelve-month period.
Family and Medical Leave
Eligible employees with at least 12 months of service may request, under the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave in any 12-month period for one or more of the following reasons:
- To care for the employee's newborn child or a child placed with the employee for adoption or foster care
- To care for the employee's spouse, domestic partner, son or daughter, or parent, who has a serious health condition, or
- For a serious health condition that makes the employee unable to perform the employee's job
